We sanded, oiled and reset the teak door in the mahogany jamb...removing the superfluous screen over the non-functional transom window above the studio door, replacing broken-off hinge leaf screws and leaving the door assembly in a fully refurbished condition...looks like furniture to me...
the frame around the window is some unidentified 3rd species, neither fish nor fowl, ash nor oak nor birch...the moulding that kept the screen in place is removed for further repair before replacement...
But a comparison of before and after is in order:
The greenhouse is also a work in progress (aren't we all?). The turret above the round room (in addition to other parts thereabout) got its annual fresh coat of oil today. (Click photo for close-up)
So progress is happening all around us, right? Or perhaps it's only inevitable entropy that is being massaged into the appearance of maintenance...? Hey, if that is all we can manage, I'll go with that. Wouldn't you?
