Growing vegetables is a challenge. A variety of critters other than the intended want to help themselves to the produce. It's hard to do the necessary work to bring organic food from soil to supper, only to have it ravaged in the middle of the night by slugs, snails, squirrels and who knows what else. I've been going out at night armed with a flashlight to pick babosa (slugs) and caracol (snails). I also put out platters of beer to attract them, and this morning I noticed one of the platters had been licked clean...perhaps that explains the glow in the eyes of our feline nocturnal visitor.
