More wings...

It was a sunny day and an unusually low tide. We spent the day in the greenhouse tending plants, but earlier I went down to the rock outcropping to get a stepping stone or two and for a lookabout. There were these 2 gulls having a lookabout too.

Then I came across these wings...

All that remains are the wings. Funny/odd they were still conjoined, but the body that joined them had been consumed. They were unable to fulfill their purpose without the body they had been associated with. I was struck with the metaphorical meanings they represented: faith without works, means without motive, imagination without will, the disembodied soul...as well as wondering what critter had made a meal of the crow, and was taking "flight" from the nourishment of the energy transfer. I cast the wings into the sea, and as they fell they whirled round and round in a final flight that still recalled the loft they gave their pilot in life.
